Web design concept for the interior studio stube.

A website about rooms should feel like a good room itself.
A studio for flats, houses and small hotels. The name comes from the Stube, the warm room where everyone ends up sitting.
Warm earth tones instead of white, images with real daylight and a tightly set grotesque that stays calm even at large sizes.
A presence that looks like home rather than a catalogue, and still leads clearly to an enquiry.
The idea
stube is our concept for an interior studio that designs flats, houses and small hotels. The name is deliberately Swiss: the Stube is the room you land in after a long day.
Many interiors websites look like a furniture catalogue: white, smooth and perfect. We wanted the opposite. A page that feels warm before you’ve read a word.

Light, material, restraint
Instead of a list of services, the page tells of three attitudes, each with one image and two sentences. First the light, then the material, then the few things that remain.
The colours come from the images themselves: lime, linen, dark wood. A deep brown replaces the usual black and softens everything.

Projects like a photo album
The projects sit in a calm grid with name and year, nothing else. If you’re looking for an interior studio, you want to see rooms, not read about them.
The process is called “Vier Räume vor Ihrem”, four rooms before yours: listening, drawing, sourcing, furnishing. So the process itself becomes a walk through a house.

«A home begins with light.»
